This module is all about helping you figure out where processed foods fit within your regular eating pattern. It’s rare that a person would need to fully cut processed foods out of their diet and we don’t recommend that you do. They hold a purpose, just like other foods and you get to be the one who makes that choice! This module will teach you about choosing foods that fit with your wants and needs, foods like condiments, and how they add flavour and enjoyment.
Module Learning Outcomes:
- You will recognise that food processing can result in ultra-processed or discretionary foods.
- You will understand that the type, frequency and volume of processed foods is what impacts heath.
- You will learn that combining whole food with processed food can improve enjoyment and nutrient intake.
