You can filter the recipes in the app by the following tags:

  • Breakfast, Main Meals, Snacks, Sides, Drinks
  • Omnivore, Pescatarian, Vegetarian, Vegan
  • Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Nut Free, Wheat Free, Soy Free, Egg Free, Low FODMAP, Under 15 minutes, Plate Model

All you have to do is turn these filters on in the app, and you will only see recipes that contain ingredients that align with these filters. If a recipe contains alternatives in the notes, these are NOT picked up by the filters. Filters are based 100% on what ingredients are listed in the recipes. If you are confident about adjusting recipes for yourself, you can browse the recipes and use the alternative suggestions to help you. Premium users can also jump onto Live Chat and ask about alternative options. Please note that alternatives are NOT carried through to the shopping list.

When tagging recipes for the absence of common allergens (e.g., soy, wheat), we use evidence-based information guided by the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA). ASCIA advises on matters including food additives and the likelihood that they will pose problems to the majority of people with a food allergy.

For example, ASCIA deems soy lecithin and soya bean oil as being able to be consumed by most people with soy allergy. Therefore, Ayla recipes that contain ingredients that are commonly made with soy lecithin are tagged as ‘soy-free’.
